Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Hamzeh Hajiloo. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Hamzeh Hajiloo is an Associate Professor of Fire Safety Engineering in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Carleton University, having joined the faculty in 2019 after completing his Ph.D. at Queen’s University. His doctoral research focused on the behavior of fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) reinforced concrete in fire conditions. Currently, his research program addresses safety in emerging sustainable construction systems which include fiber-reinforced polymers (FRP), fabric-reinforced cementitious matrices (FRCM), and mass timber fires. Through a combination of large-scale furnace testing, hybrid fire experiments, and computational modeling, he aims to develop knowledge that informs safer design practices for modern infrastructure. His work includes assessing fire safety and the residual capacity of structures, including buildings and bridges, as well as contributing to the advancement of international codes and standards in fire resistance design.
