Professor Dr. Han Brunner

Biography

Han Brunner conducts scientific research into the causes of mental disabilities and congenital defects, particularly through genetic testing of patient families, which has marked the beginning of several pivotal research projects. Over the past years, he has identified causes of skeletal defects, congenital heart defects, and congenital brain defects. His research has substantial medical significance, contributing to the understanding of the main biological processes underlying the development of humans and animals. Together with researchers at the Nijmegen Centre for Molecular Biomolecular Informatics (CMBI), Brunner is involved in large-scale informatics research linking different types of congenital diseases to the underlying genes and patterns.
