Dr. Hanan Hibshi

Biography

Hanan Hibshi is an Assistant Teaching Professor at the Information Networking Institute of Carnegie Mellon University. He earned his Ph.D. in Societal Computing from Carnegie Mellon University, as well as his M.S. in Information Security Technology Management from the same institution. He has a background working in the banking industry prior to his academic career. Hibshi's research interests focus on developing intelligent tools for security experts and accommodating their needs. His early research findings gained international attention, leading to multi-institution collaboration with the University of Nottingham. His work critically examines the intersection of security requirements, risk assessment, and data-driven intelligent systems utilizing fuzzy logic. Hibshi is actively engaged in educating the next generation of cybersecurity professionals and participates in initiatives aimed at addressing talent gaps within the field.
