Dr. Handy Tan

Biography

Handy Tan is a lecturer specializing in finance at University College London. He has amassed significant academic and professional knowledge in finance and accounting, having studied at institutions such as the University of Southern California, the University of St Andrews, and Essex University. Prior to his current role, he worked as an external auditor for KPMG at their Los Angeles headquarters and was a regulatory risk analyst at HSBC within their Risk Management Department in Canary Wharf, UK. His primary research interests include empirical financial modeling and forecasting, with a focus on integrating theoretical aspects of econometrics. He is particularly keen on studying and implementing risk management models in line with the Integrated Basel Framework on Banking Supervision. He has extensive teaching experience, having taught and worked with students from A-Level to PhD level, applying econometric models across various disciplines including Finance, Accounting, Political Science, Sociology, Transport Economics, Statistics, and Risk Management.
