Biography

Hang (Lucas) Dong joined Georgia Tech-Shenzhen as an adjunct assistant professor in Environmental Engineering in 2022, after serving as a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Stanford University. He earned his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Lehigh University in 2019. His research emphasizes the development of low carbon selective separation (LOCSS) technologies to address pressing environmental challenges. Currently, his lab focuses on designing new materials and processes aimed at (1) carbon dioxide capture, utilization, and sequestration (CCUS) to facilitate carbon neutrality, and (2) resource recovery from waste to support the transition to a circular economy. His work in these areas is essential for enhancing environmental sustainability and innovation in engineering practices.
