Dr. Hanh Nguyen

Biography

Dr. Hanh (Blue) Nguyen joined Southampton Business School in February 2024, having previously held a lectureship position at Swansea University for three and a half years. She worked as a Teaching Assistant at University College London. Dr. Nguyen completed her PhD with a major in Accounting at the University of Southampton and was a winner of the Doctoral Research Awards. Her research primarily focuses on Corporate Governance, Corporate Social Responsibility, Environmental, Social Governance (ESG) issues, Corporate Finance, and Sustainability Public Accounting. She has published in top ABS 3* journals and presented her research at various leading national and international conferences including the Academy of Management in the US and the British Accounting and Finance Association in the UK. Dr. Nguyen has secured funding from the British Academy as an early career researcher. Currently, she is involved in active projects such as creating a Corporate Board Diversity Index to support carbon performance. In her teaching role, she leads modules on Financial Reporting and Management Accounting at both postgraduate and undergraduate levels.
