Biography

Hanna Kleider joined the Department of Political Economy at King’s College London in January 2019. Previously, she served as an assistant professor in the Department of International Affairs at the University of Georgia. She received her PhD in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During graduate school, she worked with the OECD in Paris. In 2017-2018, Dr. Kleider was a Max Weber Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence. Dr. Kleider is the program director for the MA in Political Economy. Her research includes aspects of comparative political economy with a special interest in inequality, social policy, and decentralization, particularly focusing on territorial inequalities and their effects on the welfare state. Her work explores the intersection of social policy and gender relations and has been published in prominent journals such as the European Journal of Political Research and the Journal of European Social Policy. She teaches courses in Economic Policy-Making, Comparing Political Systems, and Comparative Political Economy.
