Biography

Hanna Tulis is a Lecturer at Cornell University’s College of Architecture, Art, and Planning, where she teaches design studios and seminar courses. As a Fellow at the Einhorn Center for Community Engagement for 2024-2025, she coordinates the B.Arch. Engaged Practices Studio, which emphasizes social action and community engagement. Before her academic career, Hanna worked at various prominent architectural firms, including McBride Architects, Beyer Blinder Belle, OMA, and Selldorf Architects, specializing in numerous cultural and residential projects, particularly the renovation and expansion of the Frick Collection. She is also the founder of Both-And Collaborative, a multidisciplinary design practice based in Ithaca, New York. Her research interests lie at the intersection of architecture, urbanism, and performing arts, informed by her background in contemporary dance and choreographic thinking. Hanna holds a Bachelor of Arts from Barnard College and a Master of Architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design.
