Biography

Hanqing Zhao is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. His research focuses on developing robots capable of performing complex tasks while remaining resilient to failures and external disturbances. He leverages machine learning, adaptive control, advanced consensus techniques, multi-agent reinforcement learning, supervised learning, and blockchain technologies to design robust robotic systems, particularly decentralized multi-robot systems. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science with a specialization in Robotics from McGill University, and he previously completed an M.Sc. (Eng.) in Civil Engineering and Computer Science at the Brussels Polytechnic School. In addition, he has worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Polytechnique Montréal and interned with Nokia Bell Labs.
