Biography

Hao Luo is an Assistant Professor in the School of Public Health Sciences at the University of Waterloo. His research leverages large-scale electronic medical records to address critical clinical policy questions regarding aging and mental health. He employs state-of-the-art epidemiological, statistical, and machine learning methods to identify modifiable risk factors associated with adverse health and mental health outcomes, with a particular focus on dementia, depression, multimorbidity, and frailty. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Statistics from the Capital University of Economics and Business in China, a Master of Science in Statistics from Dalarna University in Sweden, and a PhD in Statistics from Uppsala University in Sweden.
