Biography

Hao Wang is an ARC DECRA Fellow and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Monash University, and is affiliated with the Monash Energy Institute and Monash Data Futures Institute. He holds a PhD from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, where he researched under the supervision of Professor Jianwei Huang. His career includes a postdoctoral fellowship at the Stanford Sustainable Systems Lab with Professors Ram Rajagopal and Chin-Woo Tan. His research interests encompass applied machine learning, data analytics, smart grids, optimization of power and energy systems, and designing business models that encourage participation from electric vehicle owners and prosumers. Wang has been recognized with awards in his field, including the paper award at IEEE PECON 2016 and nominations at IEEE ICC 2017 and IEEE SmartGridComm 2020. He serves on the editorial board of several prominent journals and organizes major conferences, contributing significantly to the areas of energy management, machine learning, and renewable energy. He is actively involved in mentoring PhD students and exploring interdisciplinary research projects within smart energy systems.
