Biography

Haran Burri obtained his medical degree in Geneva in 1992. He subsequently specialized in internal medicine and cardiology, earning FMH titles in both fields in 2001. He furthered his training in electrophysiology in Lyon and Geneva. Appointed as a privat-docent at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva in 2007, he became a lecturer in 2010 and has been actively involved in both pre- and postgraduate teaching. Since 2007, he has also served as an associate physician in the cardiology department at Hôpital Universitaire de Genève. His clinical research primarily focuses on cardiac stimulation, particularly in the treatment of heart failure through ventricular resynchronization. He is very active within the European Heart Rhythm Association and the European Society of Cardiology, and chairs the task force on 'Cardiac Stimulation and Electrophysiology' of the Swiss Society of Cardiology. He was appointed as an assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine Specialties of the Faculty of Medicine in February 2015.
