Biography

Hari M. Osofsky is the Myra James Bradwell Professor of Law at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and serves as a Professor of Environmental Policy and Culture. He is the inaugural Director of the Energy Innovation Lab at Northwestern, focusing on energy innovation and regulatory challenges, particularly as they relate to technology and climate change. With over 50 publications, his scholarship examines governance and justice in the contexts of energy and climate law. He has authored and co-authored significant texts and articles in leading law journals, and has worked on interdisciplinary projects involving the optimization of energy use within data centers and the implications of AI in energy systems. Osofsky's career includes leadership roles at both Penn State Law and the University of Minnesota, where he initiated programs that cross disciplines, fostering partnerships across various academic and industry sectors. Recognized for his impactful scholarship, he received the 2018 Morrison Prize for a publication addressing energy partisanship. Osofsky has served in numerous capacities in legal education and is a member of the American Law Institute and a fellow of the American College of Environmental Lawyers.
