Haribabu Arthanari is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at Harvard University. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Madras Christian College and his Master's degree in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Madras. He earned his Ph.D. from Wesleyan University in 2004 under the guidance of Philip Bolton, and completed his post-doctoral training in Gerhard Wagner's laboratory. His research interests focus primarily on Protein-Protein Interactions (PPIs) and their potential therapeutic interventions. He applies structure-guided approaches to characterize and validate interactions within disease models and uses techniques such as NMR spectroscopy, NMR-based fragment high throughput screening, and biophysical cell-based assays. He is currently exploring critical interactions involving transcription factors and translation initiation machinery in the context of cancer and other disease states. His work also includes the development of innovative NMR methods and techniques for understanding protein-ligand interactions and metabolite fingerprinting.
