Harini Sridhar is a Psychiatry Resident with a rich background in narrative medicine and mental health advocacy. She grew up in an artistic environment, practicing Bharatanatyam, a classical Indian dance form, which influenced her understanding of expression through various mediums. During her college years at Duke University, she worked as an Applied Behavior Analysis therapist in a therapeutic kindergarten classroom in Chicago. After completing her Master’s in Narrative Medicine at Columbia University, Harini’s scholarly work explores the intersection of psychiatry, phenomenology, and narrative. Notably, she facilitated narrative medicine workshops at UNC-Chapel Hill, assisting eating disorder patients in reconnecting with their identities beyond their illnesses. Additionally, she teaches a course on narrative medicine at Columbia that emphasizes literary analysis and creative writing. Outside of academia, Harini enjoys figure drawing, improv, and barefoot walking.
