Biography

Harish Krishnaswamy is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Columbia University. He received his B.Tech. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras, India, in 2001, followed by M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California (USC) in 2003 and 2009, respectively. He joined Columbia University as an Assistant Professor in 2009. His research focuses on the theoretical analysis, implementation, and experimental validation of RF, millimeter-wave, and terahertz integrated circuits using silicon-based technologies. Specific research directions include linear-yet-efficient high-power millimeter-wave amplifiers, CMOS-based terahertz circuits and systems, and broadband reconfigurable RF transceivers for cognitive software-defined radio. His research is funded by federal agencies, notably DARPA and NSF, as well as by industry. Harish has received several academic awards, including the IEEE International Solid State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) Lewis Winner Award for Outstanding Paper in 2007, the Thesis Experimental Research Award from USC's Viterbi School of Engineering in 2009, and the DARPA Young Faculty Award in 2011.
