Harriet Cornell completed her PhD in Economic Social History at the University of Edinburgh. Her academic work focuses on power, authority, law, and the state in early modern Scotland, particularly on the implications of 'statecraft' for the lives of ordinary people. She holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice from Edinburgh and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. One of her notable projects includes receiving the Carnegie Collaborative Grant for the project 'Agriculture Teind Reform in Early Modern Scotland', with a book published by Boydell in April 2024.
