Biography

Harry T. Edwards served on the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit starting in 1980, served as chief judge from 1994 to 2001, and was a tenured professor of law at both the University of Michigan and Harvard University. He has been a professor of law at NYU School of Law since 1990, where he has taught courses at numerous prestigious law schools including Duke University, Georgetown University, Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Michigan, and the University of California, Irvine. Judge Edwards has co-authored five books and published numerous articles covering topics such as collegiality in appellate decision-making, forensic science, judicial administration, legal education, racial stigmas and stereotyping, labor law, and alternative dispute resolution. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the American Law Institute, and the American Bar Foundation.
