Biography

Harry Hogan is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University and currently serves as the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. He has an extensive background in mechanical and biomedical engineering, having obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1984. His research interests lie primarily in bone biomechanics and the mechanical properties of bone tissue using rodent animal models. Hogan's work often focuses on simulated space flight and exercise pharmacologic countermeasures related to osteoporosis risk factors. In addition to his teaching and research, he has received several awards throughout his career, including the Association of Students Distinguished Achievement Award for Teaching in 2018 and being named an ASME Fellow in 2008. He is involved in various professional organizations and has served on the Orthopedics Musculoskeletal Study Section for the National Institutes of Health from 1997 to 2002.
