Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Hartmut Geyer. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Hartmut Geyer received his Diploma degree in Physics and his Ph.D. in Biomechanics from Friedrich-Schiller-University of Jena in 2001 and 2005, respectively. In 2006, he was awarded the EU Marie Curie Fellowship, where he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in MIT's Biomechatronics Group and later joined the Institute of Automatic Control at ETH Zurich. He became a postdoctoral associate at Carnegie Mellon University's Robotics Institute in 2010 and currently holds the position of Associate Professor. His research interests focus on the theoretical foundations of legged dynamics control, computational models of the human neuromuscular control system, and robotic limbs that exhibit human-like behavior and dexterity. Geyer's overarching goal is to advance the science and technology of legged dynamic systems to improve the quality of life for people who depend on robotics technology to assist, replace, or restore their physical capabilities.
