Biography

Hasan Merali is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at McMaster University and a pediatric emergency medicine physician at McMaster Children’s Hospital. He completed his medical degree at Harvard Medical School and his residency in Pediatrics at Massachusetts General Hospital. He holds a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Middle East and Asian Languages and Cultures from Columbia University. Dr. Merali has undertaken fellowships in Pediatric Emergency Medicine and Global Child Health. His postgraduate training includes a Global Child Health Fellowship at the Centre for Global Child Health, Hospital for Sick Children from 2015 to 2017, and a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship at the same institution from 2013 to 2015. In addition to his primary role, Dr. Merali is also an Associate Faculty member in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
