Biography

Hasan Yardimci obtained his BSc degree in Physics from Bogazici University in Turkey in 1999 and joined the graduate program at Johns Hopkins University, where he received his PhD in Soft Condensed Matter Physics in 2006. He then served as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 2006 to 2008, where he studied the molecular mechanisms of mitotic kinesin using single-molecule imaging methods. Following this, he moved to Harvard Medical School for postdoctoral studies from 2008 to 2013, focusing on single-molecule studies of eukaryotic DNA replication. In 2013, he established his research group at Clare Hall Laboratories, part of the Cancer Research UK London Research Institute, which is now part of the Francis Crick Institute.
