Biography

Hayato Takahashi is a Teaching Fellow in the MA Global Media Management program at the Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton. His research interests encompass New Media, Environmental Studies, Science and Technology Studies, Philosophy of Science, Cultural Theory, and Aesthetics. Hayato's PhD thesis, entitled 'Tracing Fallout: Interdisciplinary Study of Technoscientific Practice Fukushima Nuclear Disaster', explored the technological and aesthetic dimensions of environmental monitoring systems related to the Fukushima nuclear disaster. Additionally, he has contributed to the field as a co-translator for Mark Fisher's essay collection 'k-punk', published by Repeater in London and ele-king books in Tokyo in 2023. With a background as a researcher, cultural critic, and music practitioner, Hayato engages deeply with the intersections of culture and technology.
