Biography

Hayriye Ayhan is a Professor and Gary C. Butler Family Faculty Fellow at the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech. She holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University, obtained in 1995, along with an M.S. in Industrial Engineering in 1992 and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Bogazici University in 1991. Her research interests include stochastic (Max,+) linear systems, performance analysis of queueing production systems, series expansions, and Markov decision processes, with applications in admission control and inventory/production control. Dr. Ayhan has received the National Science Foundation CAREER Award in 2000 and has been recognized multiple times with the CETL Thank a Teacher Award during various semesters from Spring 2009 to Fall 2013. She is also a member of the Institute of Operations Research and Management Sciences (INFORMS) and serves as the secretary treasurer of the INFORMS Applied Probability Society.
