Biography

Professor Hazel Easthope is the Deputy Director of the City Futures Research Centre at the University of New South Wales, where she specializes in urban studies and housing. She holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Tasmania, and a Bachelor of Arts with Honors from the University of Sydney. Professor Easthope's research focuses on various aspects of residential satisfaction, particularly the intersections of mobility, identity, and home. She examines the management and governance of private apartment buildings, their socio-economic implications, and the lived experiences of residents. Her notable contributions include consulting for government and industry stakeholders, producing evidence-based policy advice, and leading discussions on urban renewal and housing redevelopment.
