Biography

Heather Dahl earned her Ph.D. in Special Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2014. Currently, she plays an integral role in supporting preservice teachers who are pursuing certification as Program Coordinator, Advisor, and Instructor within the Rehabilitation Psychology Special Education Department of Curriculum and Instruction. Dr. Dahl's work emphasizes early childhood education, early intervention, and enhancing family/community engagement. Before joining the RPSE faculty in 2014, she gained valuable experience as a special education teacher across public schools in New York, North Carolina, Washington, and Wisconsin. Her dedication to the field is evident through her involvement in various presentations focusing on Universal Design for Learning, ethics in mentorship research, and effective family literacy programs for families with children with disabilities. Additionally, Dr. Dahl has received several accolades, including the National Association for Education of Young Children Accreditation for Kids Express Learning Center in 2019 and the Integrating Research Ethics Scholarship Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
