Heather Dawson completed her specialist training in pathology in Bern and Lucerne. During her residency, she spent 12 months in a research diagnostics group under Professor Robert Riddell at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, Canada. Upon her return, she took on the role of head of the dermatopathology group. Additionally, she serves as the Medical Director of the Laboratory for Histological Diagnostics since 2019. Her expertise encompasses histology and molecular pathology diagnostics. Her research interests focus on the investigation and use of prognostic biomarkers for the diagnosis of colorectal carcinoma. Heather Dawson is also the President of the Swiss Section of the International Academy of Pathology (IAP) since 2017.
