Biography

Heather Edwards is an Assistant Professor and Clinician Teacher in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Toronto. She holds an MD and PhD, alongside degrees in Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education. Edwards completed her Masters of Science in Reproductive Physiology at Queen’s University, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in Neuroendocrinology. After completing her five-year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Calgary, she became an accomplished Clinician/Scientist in the field. With a rich track record in delivering babies and performing complicated surgeries, Edwards has published several award-winning articles in high-risk obstetrics and gynecology. She served as part of the Surgical Staff at Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary for many years before joining Southlake Regional Hospital in Newmarket, Ontario. Her clinical interests include urogenital prolapse and urine stress incontinence, and she advocates for advancing women’s health.
