Dr. Murphy has over twenty years of experience in water-related research, focusing on water and wastewater treatment, water quality, and microbiology. She obtained her PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of Guelph, Canada, which emphasized appropriate household water treatment technologies for rural Cambodia. Since September 2020, she has been associated with the Department of Pathobiology at the Ontario Veterinary College as a Tier II Canada Research Chair and Associate Professor working in the Health area.
