Professor Dr. Heather Stout Delgado

Biography

Heather Winona Stout-Delgado is an Associate Professor in the Department of Immunology at Weill Cornell Medical College. Her research focuses on the role of alveolar macrophages in the pathogenesis of respiratory diseases, with a particular emphasis on how aging affects immune responses and susceptibility to infections such as those caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae. Stout-Delgado's work has contributed significantly to understanding how metabolic derangements influence immune function and inflammation during viral and bacterial infections. She has published numerous academic articles that shed light on the molecular mechanisms driving age-related changes in immune responses, particularly in relation to respiratory infections and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
