Biography

Heather Tick, M.A., M.D., holds the Gunn-Loke Endowed Professorship in Integrative Pain Medicine at the University of Washington. With over 20 years of experience as an integrative pain practitioner, she has served as a clinical associate professor at UW in multiple disciplines, including Family Medicine and Anesthesiology Pain Medicine. In addition, Dr. Tick has held an adjunct professor position at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC). Her research contributions span across various esteemed institutions, including the University of Waterloo's Department of Kinesiology, the University of Washington, and the University of Arizona. Notably, she was the director of the Integrative Pain Clinic at the University of Arizona’s Department of Family and Community Medicine until December 2011, where she was instrumental in establishing the clinic to serve Medicaid patients, contributing to the growth and expansion of services covered by numerous insurance carriers.
