Dr. Heather Turner

Biography

Heather Turner works for PHG Foundation, a not-for-profit think tank, assisting policymakers in understanding new technologies to improve healthcare and health outcomes. Her work has focused on the emerging field of genomics and its significance at various stages of healthcare, including prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis, intersecting with disciplines such as embryology and epidemiology. She has developed a growing interest in the applications of genomics within prenatal and newborn contexts. To date, her research has explored the health policy implications of prenatal sequencing services. Turner is particularly interested in supporting the understanding and evidence needed to facilitate decision-making and the implementation of clinical practices that enhance genomic services for parents.
