Biography

Hector Williams is a Professor Emeritus specializing in Greek Art and Archaeology. He directs archaeological excavations at Mytilene and Stymphalos, funded by SSHRC and private donors, which focus on the ancient city in the northeastern Aegean that dates back to 1983. His work has significantly contributed to the understanding of the social, cultural, and religious life of the city across various ages through systematic post-Bronze Age excavations.
