Hee-Sun Han obtained a B.S. degree in Chemistry from the College of Natural Sciences at Seoul National University, Korea, where he graduated summa cum laude as valedictorian. Currently, as an Associate Professor of Chemistry at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Han leads a research group that develops and implements innovative bioanalytical technologies aimed at dissecting the molecular and cellular mechanisms driving the ensemble behavior of complex biological systems. His specific interests include bioanalytical technologies, spatially resolved single-cell omics, synthetic cells, bioimaging, and drop microfluidics.
