Biography

Heeju Terry Park is a Professor in the Department of Human Centered Design at Cornell University. He obtained his Ph.D. in Apparel Design from Oklahoma State University and has expertise in functional apparel and smart clothing technologies. Dr. Park has participated in multiple funded multidisciplinary research projects aimed at improving mobility and thermal comfort in personal protective clothing systems, including ballistic body armor and firefighters' gear. He has published 48 peer-reviewed journal papers and authored a textbook, 'Designing Activewear'. Dr. Park has secured $1.96 million in research funding and holds six patents related to wearable sensors and shoes, developed in collaboration with graduate students and faculty at Cornell.
