Biography

Heeyon Kim is an assistant professor of strategy at the Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration, as well as a faculty member in the management and organization area of the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business. Prior to this, in 2018, Kim was a faculty member at the NUS Business School at the National University of Singapore. He completed his PhD in strategy at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. His research notably bridges strategy, organizational theory, and international business, specifically exploring social evaluations of firms, social status, reputation, stigma, and market identity, and how these affect behavior and performance. He has a particular focus on the creative industries, including feature films, fashion, and music, examining contexts that involve innovation. Kim's work has been published in reputable journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, Strategic Management Journal, and Oxford University Press.
