Biography

Heidi Kitrosser is the William W. Gurley Professor of Law at the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, having joined in 2022. Before that, she was the Robbins Kaplan Professor of Law at the University of Minnesota Law School, where she joined the law faculty in 2006, and served as an assistant professor at Brooklyn Law School from 2003 to 2006. Kitrosser is an expert in constitutional law, particularly in areas concerning federal government secrecy, separation of powers, and free speech. She has published extensively, including her book 'Reclaiming Accountability: Transparency, Executive Power, U.S. Constitution' (2015, University of Chicago Press). Kitrosser was awarded the Roy C. Kitrosser is actively involved in advocating for free speech and government accountability, co-founding the Free Expression Legal Network, which comprises law school clinics and practitioners aimed at protecting these values.
