Biography

Heidi Maria Thomsen is a Tenure Track Researcher at Aarhus University, specializing in population dynamics and adaptive management of migratory waterfowl and seabirds with a focus on migration and ecological impacts of wind energy development. Her research aims to integrate field studies with ecological modeling to enhance understanding of bird interactions within changing environments, thereby informing conservation decisions. She is actively involved in studying behavioral ecology, population ecology, and ornithology. Her expertise includes marine monitoring, behavioral influences, bioacoustics, and conservation biology. Over the years, she has contributed to various research outputs and continues to engage in conferences and events related to wildlife impacts and conservation efforts. With a PhD in Ecology, her collaborations span multiple research areas, emphasizing the significance of monitoring and conservation synergies.
