Dr. Heine Thomsen

Biography

Heine Dølrath Thomsen is an Accelerator physicist at Aarhus University, primarily working within the Department of Physics and Astronomy, particularly the Centre for Storage Ring Facilities (ISA). He has significant expertise in developing and operating Denmark’s largest particle accelerator, the ASTRID2 facility, where he specializes in beam dynamics and synchrotron radiation emissions. He also has responsibilities as a radiation safety officer and heads the electronics workshop at the institute. Thomsen is engaged in teaching, offering an annual master-level course in Accelerator Detector Physics and has previously contributed to developing a talent track program for undergraduate physics students. His research interests are focused on particle accelerators and radiation. He has been actively participating in conferences, workshops, and seminars related to accelerator physics, showcasing his work and collaboration with other physicists in the field.
