Dr. Heleen Van Mierlo

Biography

Heleen van Mierlo is an Assistant Professor in Work and Organizational Psychology at Erasmus University Rotterdam. She graduated in Work and Organizational Psychology from Radboud University Nijmegen and obtained her PhD from Eindhoven University of Technology. Her research focuses on the functioning of groups and teams, with a particular interest in the regulatory processes that affect team dynamics. Van Mierlo studies how teams shape and coordinate collective activities to achieve effective performance while safeguarding the well-being of individual team members. Specific topics of interest include motivation, goal setting, team autonomy, self-management, and conflict management, as well as the methodological issues involved in measuring group-level constructs.
