Biography

Helen Collins obtained a class honours degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Bradford and followed it with a PhD in Cellular Immunology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She has held postdoctoral positions at Washington University Medical School in St. Louis and the Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology in Berlin, primarily investigating immune mechanisms that control Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection. Since joining the Division of Immunology, Infection and Inflammatory Diseases in 2002, she has introduced six new study themes into the Biomedical Science program aligned with the research of the Faculty of Life Sciences.
