Dr. Helen Ettler

Biography

Helen Ettler is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Western University. She obtained her MBChB from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC). Her clinical and research activities focus on gynecologic pathology, particularly in quality assurance in laboratory settings. She has extensive experience in developing clinically-oriented collaborative research projects that aim to improve diagnostic practices and patient outcomes in gynecologic pathology. Dr. Ettler is committed to enhancing the quality of laboratory medicine through her involvement in education and quality improvement initiatives. She actively participates in clinical activities and provides training for medical students and residents in pathology. As a faculty member, she emphasizes the importance of quality assurance in pathology and works to advance knowledge in the field through research and teaching.
