Biography

Helen Paul studied Economics and Management at the University of Oxford and obtained her Master's and PhD from the University of St Andrews with funding from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). She is currently a lecturer in Economics and Economic History at the University of Southampton and holds an honorary position at UCL Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction. Helen is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and the Royal Society of Arts. Her roles include being the Honorary Secretary of the Economic History Society and chair of the EHS Women's Committee. She is also involved in community heritage initiatives and has contributed to educational activities through her role as a board member of Economic Review. Additionally, she actively engages in media appearances, contributing to programs on BBC Radio 4 and other platforms discussing economic history and related themes.
