Dr. Helen Reddel

Biography

Professor Reddel is a research leader at the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research and a respiratory physician at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney. She serves as the Director of the Australian Centre Airways Disease Monitoring (ACAM) and is an Adjunct Professor at the Sydney School of Public Health, University of Sydney. Her leadership is marked by her role as Chair of the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) Science Committee, where she has been pivotal in implementing evidence-based changes in clinical asthma management. Professor Reddel's research focuses on population monitoring of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). She is involved in a large multinational observational study investigating the underlying mechanisms of airways disease and conducts qualitative research to understand patient perspectives on mild to severe asthma. Her academic qualifications include a PhD in Medicine and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Sydney.
