Biography

Helen Wheadon is a Professor at the University of Glasgow, specializing in Stem Cell Regulation within the Paul O'Gorman Leukaemia Research Centre. Her research focuses on various aspects of leukaemia, including the mechanisms of chemo-resistance in chronic myeloid leukaemia and acute myeloid leukaemia, the engineering of bone marrow niches to control stem cell regulation, and the development of comprehensive cancer models. Professor Wheadon has also contributed to the field through studies on gene expression in CML stem cells and the applicability of induced pluripotent stem cells in pre-clinical drug screening.
