Biography

Juan (Helen) Zhou is an Associate Professor at the Centre for Sleep Cognition and the Director of the Centre for Translational Magnetic Resonance Research at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. Her research focuses on the selective brain network-based vulnerabilities in aging and neuropsychiatric disorders, leveraging multimodal neuroimaging and machine learning approaches. She is recognized for her pioneering work on the multimodal brain connectome and has made significant advances in brain foundation models using deep learning for non-invasive brain decoding and outcome prediction. Zhou completed her undergraduate and Ph.D. studies in Computer Science in Singapore and has been a recipient of various prestigious awards, including the undergraduate scholarship from the Ministry of Education, Singapore and the Lee Kuan Yew Gold Medal. She also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Memory and Aging Center, University of California, San Francisco. Throughout her career, Zhou has served on numerous committees and editorial boards and has received support for her research from various funding bodies including the Royal Society in the UK and the NIH in the USA.
