Biography

Dr. Helena Ritchie focuses on studying major dentin noncollagenous proteins, particularly dentin sialoprotein (DSP) and phosphophoryn (PP). Her research encompasses four main areas: the regulation and function of rat dentin sialoprotein phosphophoryn, tissue engineering involving DSP and PP proteins as biomimetic molecules to promote dentin regeneration, DSP-PP gene expression in non-mineralized tissues such as bone, kidney, and salivary glands during organogenesis, and studies on DSP-PP precursor processing.
