Biography

Helena Strömberg studies the role design plays in creating preconditions for sustainable everyday activities. She applies user-centered design methodology to explore the new demands that emerge for products and services to enable sustainable ways of solving people's everyday needs. Her work focuses on the function of part-sharing schemes within product-service systems and supports resource-efficient interaction patterns. A central area of application in her research is sustainable mobility. In addition to her research, Helena is the Director of Chalmers Master's programme in Industrial Design Engineering, where she integrates findings from her studies into educational practices to prepare students to tackle complex sustainability challenges through design.
