Dr. Helena Teede

Biography

Professor Helena Teede is the Director of the Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation at Monash University. With a distinguished career in endocrinology and women's health, she has significantly contributed to research on polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), gestational diabetes, and women's health during reproductive years. Over her 30-year academic career, Professor Teede has secured NHMRC fellowship funding and led numerous clinical and public health research initiatives focused on improving health outcomes. She has established robust partnerships aimed at translating research into practice and advocating for women's health issues regionally and internationally. An influential mentor, she has supervised 55 PhD students, many of whom have gone on to successful careers in academia and healthcare. A fellow of multiple prestigious medical colleges, she is active in international health policy circles and has held leadership roles in national and international professional societies, including her current role as President of the International Society of Endocrinology. Professor Teede is dedicated to leveraging data-driven healthcare improvements and fostering partnerships for health equity and effective research translation across communities.
