Biography

Hélène Dumont is a specialist in criminal law and a retired professor from the Faculty of Law at the Université de Montréal since 2011. She dedicated part of her career to university management and was the first woman to hold the position of dean at the Faculty. Throughout her career, she served on numerous committees and received recognition for her contributions to legal scholarship and education. Notably, she was awarded the Foundation of the Bar of Quebec Prize for her work titled 'Penology: Canadian Law Relating to Penalties and Sentencing.'
